Dr. Rajesh Natrayan

Dr. Rajesh Natrayan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over 12 years of clinical experience in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Based in Salem, Tamil Nadu, he is currently attached to the Sri Gokulam Hospital, which is located on Meyyanur Road.

Dr. Natrayan is well qualified, with a DM in Gastroenterology from Stanley Medical College and the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) title in Paediatrics to his name. He has also successfully completed a fellowship in advanced therapeutic GI endoscopy and ERCP. His areas of interest include therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy – upper GI bleed, foreign body removal, dilatation, stenting, polypectomy and argon plasma coagulation. He is also familiar with ERCP procedures such as CBD stone removal and stenting, bile leak, oesophageal/anorectal manometry and 24 hour pH metry. In addition, he is well-versed in dealing with viral hepatitis B and C, alcoholic liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's Disease, etc.

After completing his MD, Dr. Rajesh Natrayan joined the Tamil Nadu Government Service and served as Assistant Civil Surgeon from 2000 to 2006, before moving to his current posting as Consultant Gastroenterologist. He is academically inclined too, and has made over a hundred presentations at various national and state conferences and association meetings held under the banners of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Physicians of India (API), Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), etc. Dr. Natrayan has several publications to his name including original and review articles, case reports and letters to the editor in national and international journals.
